Shetland may not be known for its cocoa or sugar cane plantations but that hasn’t prevented local confectioners from producing some very distinctive and delicious sweet things. Chocolates, fudge, macaroon bars and Puffin Poo are among the delicacies they make. Jams and marmalades are available too and Shetland also has its own ice cream.
 
There are also some savouries on offer, including a variety of chutneys, ketchups and mustard that complement very well all the other riches in the Shetland larder.
